In order to get the full benefit from the data provided you need Aquarium 3.0.8 and the most recent version of ChessOK Downloader. If you have a previous version of Aquarium, please upgrade before downloading. PGN file The PGN file can be viewed in any modern chess GUI. The analysis contained in the PGN file is, however, extremely limited compared to the full analysis available to Aquarium users. The PGN file only contains the variations discussed in the article. A direct download of the PGN file for users without ChessOK: FischerGeller1967.pgn (right click and Save As). Downloader:  Full download of all analysis The full download of all analysis is available from the ChessOK Resource Server (CRS) using the ChessOK Downloader. This download is only available (and useful) for Aquarium users. For downloading: Quick download instructions Download and install the resources from /Aquarium/Bonus/Fischer-Geller 1967. Step-by-step download instructions
  1. Start ChessOK Downloader and log in.
  2. Go to /Aquarium/Bonus/Fischer-Geller 1967.
  3. Right-click on ‘Fischer-Geller 1967 PGN’ and select Download
  4. Click the ‘Online Directory’ button in the upper left corner.
  5. Right-click on ‘Fischer-Geller 1967 IDEA tree’ and select Download.
  6. You will be taken back to the downloads list. When the first download is ready, click the Install link in the Description column.
  7. The ‘Installation parameters’ window will be displayed. Note the ‘installation path’ so you know where the files will be saved. Click the Install button (or the ‘Save resource (manual install)’ link for manual installation). 
  8. Go back to the downloads list and install the second download in the same way.
  9. Now you can access the files from Aquarium.
Viewing the analysis tree in Aquarium The quick and easy way While viewing the Fischer-Geller game, click the IDeA options and change the ‘Analysis tree’ to the one you just downloaded. Then click Save (not Start). Select the Tree tab, click the leftmost button and select DeepAnalysis from the drop-down list. Creating a new tree configuration If the quick and easy way doesn’t suit you, it’s possible to create a new tree configuration consisting of just the Geller-Fischer analysis tree (other types of tree configurations can also be created, of course):
  1. While viewing the Fischer-Geller game select the Tree tab.
  2. Click the Options button in the Configuration group. The ‘Tree configuration’ window will be displayed.
  3. From the ‘Select configuration’ drop-down list select ‘Deep Analysis’ and then click the ‘New…’ button.
  4. Select ‘Copy current configuration (DeepAnalysis)’ when asked ‘What configuration do you want to create. Click ‘Next>’.
  5. Type a name into the ‘Configuration name’ field, e.g. Fischer-Geller. Click Finish.
  6. Double click on the ‘*DA’ in the Tree column. The Open tree dialog box will be displayed. Select the tree you downloaded and click Open.
  7. Click Yes when asked “There are 1 other entries of this tree. Replace them as well?” Click OK and the analysis tree will be displayed in the tree window.
