Those who have followed the computer chess scene for a few years have witnessed one of its biggest revelations – the release of Rybka. Its first beta version was released in early December 2005, and in spite of some bugs and rough edges, it surpassed all other programs. |

Testing by independent rating organizations quickly confirmed what chess enthusiasts had seen the day Rybka was released. It went straight to the top of all rating lists, from blitz to long time-controls, and the gap to the second tier programs was so big that it was clear that it would take years until they could catch up with Rybka.

It became clear that it was only a matter of time until Rybka became the World Computer Chess Champion.
That time came at the 15th ICGA World Computer Chess Championship in Amsterdam in June 2007. Rybka defended the title in 2008.
The latest incarnation of Rybka, version 3, is a huge improvement over the previous version and still maintains a commanding lead over all other chess engines.

- Rybka is the current Fischerandom/Chess960 computer world chess champion.
- Rybka leads all rating lists (both chess and Fischerandom/Chess960) of independent rating organizations by a large margin.

- Rybka fully supports Aquarium’s revolutionary Interactive Deep Analysis (IDeA).
- Rybka is available for both 64-bit and 32-bit systems. The 64-bit version is considerably stronger, but requires a 64-bit operating system such as Windows XP 64-bit or a 64-bit version of Windows Vista.
- Rybka is available in both single-processor and multi-processor versions. The latter takes full advantage of the power of modern multi-core/multi-processor computer which are becoming more and more popular.
