Downloads for the article “Large-Scale Analysis with Rybka Aquarium”

The downloads on this page are related to the ChessOK Cafe article “Large-Scale Analysis with Rybka Aquarium”. They contain analysis of Fischer-Geller, Skopje 1967. It is recommended that you read the article to get a better understanding of the contents of these downloads.

In order to get the full benefit from the data provided you need Aquarium 3.0.8 and the most recent version of ChessOK Downloader. If you have a previous version of Aquarium, please upgrade before downloading.

PGN file

The PGN file can be viewed in any modern chess GUI. The analysis contained in the PGN file is, however, extremely limited compared to the full analysis available to Aquarium users. The PGN file only contains the variations discussed in the article.

A direct download of the PGN file for users without ChessOK:

FischerGeller1967.pgn (right click and Save As).

Downloader:  Full download of all analysis

The full download of all analysis is available from the ChessOK Resource Server (CRS) using the ChessOK Downloader. This download is only available (and useful) for Aquarium users. For downloading:

Viewing the analysis tree in Aquarium

The quick and easy way

While viewing the Fischer-Geller game, click the IDeA options and change the ‘Analysis tree’ to the one you just downloaded. Then click Save (not Start).

Select the Tree tab, click the leftmost button and select DeepAnalysis from the drop-down list.

Creating a new tree configuration

If the quick and easy way doesn’t suit you, it’s possible to create a new tree configuration consisting of just the Geller-Fischer analysis tree (other types of tree configurations can also be created, of course):

  1. While viewing the Fischer-Geller game select the Tree tab.
  2. Click the Options button in the Configuration group. The ‘Tree configuration’ window will be displayed.
  3. From the ‘Select configuration’ drop-down list select ‘Deep Analysis’ and then click the ‘New…’ button.
  4. Select ‘Copy current configuration (DeepAnalysis)’ when asked ‘What configuration do you want to create. Click ‘Next>’.
  5. Type a name into the ‘Configuration name’ field, e.g. Fischer-Geller. Click Finish.
  6. Double click on the ‘*DA’ in the Tree column. The Open tree dialog box will be displayed. Select the tree you downloaded and click Open.
  7. Click Yes when asked “There are 1 other entries of this tree. Replace them as well?” Click OK and the analysis tree will be displayed in the tree window.
