Convekta/ChessOK is glad to announce the release of the latest updates for Aquarium products. It is highly recommended to download and install these updates as they include a set of important new features. It is especially important for Aquarium 2011 users, as they receive the full set of features implemented in Houdini Aquarium.

Improvements

The list of bug fixes/ new features presented for both products (Aquarium 2011, Houdini Aquarium):

• Game Analysis and Blunders Check functions had problems in previous versions. Fixed.
• Aquarium Book Adapter is included into Aquarium package. See the description at https://www.chessok.com/books/BAdapter.html
• The bug with pondering that existed in previous versions was fixed.
• Improved functionality for viewing and editing EPD databases.
• All programs included in Aquarium use the new AqChess font.
• Additional opening book features are added to Aquarium. Houdini 2 book is optimized to work with Aquarium build 490 (and higher).
• Numerous minor fixes and improvements based on user feedback received since the release of Houdini 2 Aquarium.

The following features were presented in Houdini Aquarium GUI, but have not been available for Aquarium 2011 users:

1. IDeA is significantly improved
   1. New algorithm and new parameters for specifying tree shapes. Now IDeA solves more tasks in automatic mode. Using Tactical or Aggressive tree shapes in automatic mode, the new IDeA can even solve some tactical positions that infinite analysis cannot
   2. “Export all projects to Master Tree” function is added
   3. IDeA mode is optimized and now works much faster
2. Inifinite analysis improvements
   1. When an analysis line is inserted into notation, an additional comment is added to the end of the line, specifying the move after which the analysis was performed.
   2. In infinite analysis history tree, you can see not only evaluations of the moves, but also the depth of each analysis
3. Database fixes
   1. The size limit for PGN files is increased from 2 GB to 4 GB
   2. The bug deleting games from PGN files is fixed
   3. Templates with described header fields can now be used for new and existing databases
4. Improved blog export
   1. Arrows under the board are implemented
   2. Arrow keyboard shortcuts can now be used to move through notations
5. Improved chess font AqChess.
   1. Problems with some symbols not being displayed for some locales are solved.
   2. Font parameters changed to avoid compatibility issues.
6. Numerous minor fixes and improvements based on user feedback received since the release of Houdini 2 Aquarium.

How to install

Note that different update files should be used for different products.

Customers of Aquarium 2011 should download and install the following file: https://www.chessok.com/download/Aquarium/updates/Aquarium_2011_Update_build490.exe

Customers of Houdini Aquarium should download and install the following file: https://www.chessok.com/download/Aquarium/updates/Houdini_Aquarium_Update_build490.exe

Some users have both products installed on their systems. They need to download both updates and to apply them separately to the folders where the corresponding versions of Aquarium are installed.

If you installed builds 480 or 482 before (links were published on Rybka Forum), you still need to download and run the standard build 490 update. There are no special incremental packages of smaller sizes.
