CQL implementation in CA15

Hi.  I want to use CQL to drive classifier logic, using primarily header information,  but there seen to be issues in either my approach or the implementation in CA.

Simple queries like:
  (match
    :year 2010 2017
   (position)
)

Executes, but comes up with no games found (games in that range do exist).
When I try to use parameters like :site or :tag it claims that these are unknown keywords.

Any advice or is there a one pager (even hand written smile  )  on what parts of CQL are supported?

Thanks

Re: CQL implementation in CA15

Yes, it's clear that there's no CQL documentation.  That's why I wrote the post.

I was asking if you could talk to the devs and have them write a note just listing the tags they support.  Is that possible?  If you want to make that section of the code available (it's likely a stand-alone module), I'll write the documentation...

It's useless as it stands, but it is an announced feature.  It would be nice to help users take advantage of it.

Thanks for the reply.   lmk if there's anything you can do about this.

Re: CQL implementation in CA15

Hi Zhur (et al) -

I'm using CA15.  Can you tell me if the CQL implementation is better defined or documented in CA17 before I upgrade?

From the ad page - hoping there's actual support for this feature, thanks:

"CQL (Chess Query Language). CQL is simply put the most powerful search method currently available for chess databases. If you have ever run into the limitations of standard search methods, CQL is for you. Mastering Chess Assistant’s CQL allows you to perform searches you could only dream of with any other chess database system.

Composite search allows you to store and organize your CQL queries into a hierachical structure, give them descriptive names, and set up a diagram of a typical position. This allows you to build a library of useful search criteria."

Hi Zhur - any CQL (or other significant improvements to the program) for CA18?  The ads focus on Houdini.
Looking for a reason to upgrade smile

Thanks - jpd

Are there ever going to be upgrades in the software itself? Though the functionality is okay there are quite a few bugs to be removed and functions to be improved. And there must be a wishlist as well like hyperlinks to other games, classifiers covering several databases, storing of window formats, folding variations and on and on ...

I don't know exactly plans about new abilities in new CA versions. But interface in ca not changed from ca10.
Each time in new version new only engines, trees and databases
