Chess Assistant 11

Apart from the inclusion of Rybka 4, the Hugebase update + internet subscription and the new opening encyclopedia, are there any changes/bugfixes to the CA11 application itself as compared to CA10 that would be interesting for CA10 users to know about?

Thank you
Jeremy

--------------------------------------
In ca 11 must be fixed few bugs
the main: bug with rebuilding trees under Vista and windows 7

In ca 11 will be new HugeBase and new cap tree and new direct tree

After releasing ca 11 we will write what's new in ca 11.

Most possible in ca 11 will be the same database Openings (as in ca 10)

What about new interface especially giagrams? Compare CA 11  to database features of Rybka Aquarium is worth to upgrade to CA 11 or to buy Aquarium?

In ca 11 will be minimal of new features except new trees, databases and Rybka 4 UCI
I think interface left the same. More excatly I may answer when ca 11 will be released

It's pretty important for us to know if bugs have been fixed, even if no new features have been added to the interface. Can't one of the programmers simply comment on what they fixed? I am enjoying CA10, just starting out with it, but see the potential. However, I do not want to convert my entire chess life from CB to CA if CA is essentially a dead product. Mature is one thing: I understand that there is no need for lots of new features, but the programmers really can't continue to ignore problems and charge 100 euro for a database upgrade!

I hope we can get more information. I would pre-order CA11 today if I knew that someone was actually taking care of it.

Re: Chess Assistant 11

This is exactly why I have not upgraded since CA 8 (8.1 w/ Patch).  The changes have hardly justified the spending more money, and the CA team tends to be rather vague concerning bug fixes.  I love CA, but the bugs annoy me (especially regarding upgrading trees, background update, etc.).  What's worse is that I read about these very same problems in CA 9 and 10 from frustrated users.  With no new interface or major differences between these versions, why would I upgrade for the same bugs?  Simply adding more games to the database is not enough.  Many of these bugs have been around for years.  I think it's time they were fixed.

Cheers,
Phillip

Re: Chess Assistant 11

Hi,

I don't understand anymore the marketing strategy of Chessok. After all the bugs in the last version of Chess Assistant without patch I was expecting a new CA 11 with new features without the bugs of the older versions.

But the same procedure than every year: new database, new opening table, an update of the engine and the old bugs and for sure new bugs.

Sorry, this time I will not make an upgrade.

Bernd
