Chess Olympiad Dresden 2008: Round 5

The main results of the day:

Men: Germany1 - Russia 2 - 2 (4 draws), Armenia - Netherlands 2½ - 1½, Hungary - Ukraine 1½ - 2½ (Ivanchuk won Leko in 127 moves, and Karjakin won Polgar, but Eljanov lost to Almasi), Norway - Azerbaijan 1-3 (Gashimov and Mamedov won).

Women: Poland - China ½ - 3½, Russia - Georgia 2 - 2 (World Champion Kosteniuk lost to Maia Chiburdanidze), India - Hungary 1½ - 2½.

The 38th Chess OlympiadThe 38th Chess Olympiad will take place in Dresden (Germany) from 12 till 25 November. This year each team consists of 4 regular and 1 reserve players and form of the tournament is now an 11 rounds swiss. 156 teams are announced in the men tournament, and 119 in the women one.
